Research
Main research areas
The Chair of Laser and Light Technology develops laser-based analytical and metrological methods for process, environmental and food technology. These are customised for specific problems and are based on laser spectroscopy, laser desorption and interferometric methods. In addition, the coupling of multiphoton ionisation with mass spectrometry and ion mobility spectrometry is used for trace analysis applications.
A further focus of our work is on the damage to historical dyes and pigments caused by light irradiation and provides museums and collections with tools to assess the damage potential of different lighting scenarios.
